Replacing Rear Oil Seal Borg Warner Velvet drive

I have oil spinning out of the

I have oil spinning out of the rear end of my Borg Warner Velvet (71 or 72 C) tranny. The boat is now up and on blocks. Can I replace the rear oil seal on that tranny witout removing it from the boat? I have room to slide the shaft back out of the way.
 
"Sure, Just remove the output

"Sure, Just remove the output flange and pop out the seal. Be sure to apply sealant to the spline upon reassembly as oil can leak out from the center bolt of the flange if not properly sealed."
