" I am going to use a 6 cyl Subaru, 230 hp in a experimental amphibian aircraft with a pusher propeler. It will require an rpm reduction drive unit (RDU). I would prefer to use a gear drive unit instead of a belt drive one. The geared unit will have to make two ninty deg. turns, just as an in board/outboard Marine unit does. To lighten it up, I would just use the drive train. I plan to weld up a pylon around to hold the drive train in place and drive the prop

What do you think? Does this idea have any merit. If so, what marine drive unit would you recommend for a 230 hp engine?

Thanks "

MARINE DRIVE UNITS DEPEND ON

MARINE DRIVE UNITS DEPEND ON THE WATER THEY ARE IN TO KEEP COOL.

I THINK IF YOU DO THIS WE WILL BE READING ABOUT YOU. GOOD THOUGHT THOUGH.
