Worked well in my 1986 Chris Craft 312 Stinger. Twin Mercruiser 454/330hp.
Try the same oil in my new boat (new to me) 35 Cigarette Mistress with twin 454/450hp and it would burn it up. Now I use SAE 40 and it doesn't burn. It is also 1/3 of the cost of the Mobil 1. It adds up when changing the oil once every twenty hours. I was told this has to do with the multi-viscosity that it would burn. Mercury recommends straight weight oil too.
All depends what your running I guess.
