" Does anyone know who the true manufacture of this engine Yamaha 5.7 I/O is (GM, Ford, Mercury, etc..) or is at actually Yamaha? Also where a good part source might be.

Almost all mercruiser bits fit the engine bit; Seiler Marine, I think, do change-over legs "

" Watch it, exhaust system is different and so is the theromostat housing, a cross over to mercury is possible and i have done it. Also the delco ignition system is unlike anyone else but delco still sells caps and rotors and ingition modules. The Y pipe in the exhaust was made by Volvo like most and mercury is the same. The main problem is mounting the alternator with mercury manifolds. The are 2 fewer holes and the alternator isn't as secure as it was using yamaha manifolds. "

What part number or brand should I look for to replace the oil pan? Where can I get One? Do I need to lift the motor to replace the oil pan?

Also the power sttering pump? Does anyone know how to get a replacement or similar pump?
