" i have a 1976-120 omc seaswirl. the boat sat for 4 years with no operation. cant get any ignition spark. replaced ballast resistor,coil, and distributor. checked all wiring i could get to.the strange thing is that i get current to both sides of the coil, if you have any thougths on this i would like to hear them. jimbo "

"Sorry Jimbo, my expertise is with the outboard division only. However, do you have voltage to the coil in both the run and "start" position of the ignition switch. You say you replaced the distributor. Did that include a new rotor? Sorry I'm of no help to you, but I'm sure someone will jump in here with the answer.

" joe, thank's for your concern and help. i found a
book that had electrical diagrams of old units. i had a short in the wire bundles that was causing the feed
back.problem solved. thank's again.
