Engine run good but shuts down

twin inboards right engine sh

twin inboards right engine shuts down at 3000 rpm 351 fords i check fuel/timing/comps/new motors runs fine at 0 to 2800 rpm but after 2min. slowy lose rpm back fire and die.but well start right be up and run all day.could it be some type of switch/relay/left engine run fine.

"If you goose the throttle when the engine is about to die, and it responds momentarily, you've got fuel starvation. If not, it may be ignition - like an overheated coil or bad resistor, but that's less likely. I'd check the fuel system first - could also be pump relay if you have electric pumps.

" I had a simalar problem with my Ford 351. It would start fine and idle great. Once I got it out on the water, the engine would stall. Turns out my gas tanks had a build up of "crud" in them. The "crud" fouled the fuel filter system once the boat was moving. I had to have my fule filter and both my fuel tanks replaced. Now all wooks fine. "
