"275 Lehmans, I have no water restrictions,new water pumps, old guages, and at 2000 RPM I'm running 195 degrees, What should I change first to drimatically drop the temperature?"
 
"First I would check the actua

"First I would check the actual temperature with a heat gun not trusting the old gauges. If your gauges prove to be operating correctly, I would then change the heat exchanger taking into consideration the age of the heat exchangers. The thermostat housings are a by-pass thermostat and you need to take them apart and check the seat where the by-pass thermostat seats in the by-pass position to see if corroded or eaten away. If there is leak in the open condition it could cause your engines to run hot."
