"On my 1977 Bucaneeer 30, the reverse gear is intermittent. With the engine "off" I can shift to fwd, neutral, and reverse. I hand turn the shaft to ensure it's in gear (or neutral). With the engine running I move the shifter (actually the linkage at the engine) from one extreme to another but the gear does not change. I can even move it to neutral but it stays in gear until the engine is shut down. I wuold really appreciate and suggestions on how I can correct this. It's as if the reverse gear fails under load (engine running). Thanks!"
