I have a 1998 Silverton 360 Express with twin 454XLI's and was contemplating winterizing these myself. How difficult of a task is this? What would I need to do to verify I did it correctly. I have friends with I/O's that always do their own winterizing, but just want to make sure nothing is overlooked. Am I better off just having the yard do the work?"

"As long as you are comfortable around a set of wrenches and can insure thorough coverage, it is not difficult at all. Just be sure you coverall all elements of the engines, water system, air conditioning, head, and other potential freeze issues. Lists that cover these components are all over the web and specialty boating stores.

Usually takes us about 2-3 hours to get it all done properly but that is my brother and myself. Since you have NON-carburated engines, take note of defined procedures for fogging the cylinders posted clearly here on the site"
