"Not sure what type of grease

"Not sure what type of grease to use for different applications. I have the green "marine" grease from the auto parts store and also the regular grease for my grease gun.
Motor is a Volvo AQ130D with a 280 leg.

Which type grease do I use for what application?
1) Trailer wheel bearings (w/bearing buddy)
2) Outdrive propeller shaft
3) Primary drive shaft/U-joint knuckle splines
4) PDS bearings (through grease cup on top of flywheel cover)
5) Outdrive grease zerks

Wondering if there is commonality between applications, e.g. rotating bearing and sliding parts requiring different grease?

Thanks for any help."

"Not sure if it's technica

"Not sure if it's technically correct or not, but I've used the green marine grease on all of these things and never had an issue in the boat's 37+ year life."

"For all the items you mention

"For all the items you mention (except for #2), I currently use 76 Redtac #2 premium heavy duty EP lithium grease. For the splines in the prop shaft, I use Quicksilver Special Lubricant 101.

In any case, the most important thing is to grease all the above items.

"Yes, "any grease is bette

"Yes, "any grease is better than no grease" is the general rule.
Do not mix grease types if you are uncertain of compatibility.

Which type grease to use?
1) Green marine wheel bearing grease.
2) Yes to the Q/S special spline grease.
3) Ditto El P..... the bearing crosses like this.
4) Yes.... Ditto El P again. Replace this with a zirk. Lube with engine at idle! (static vs dynamic)
5) Green marine grease."
