"guy's,would there be any problem using a chrome marine pan vs.a steel marine pan.i find that the chrome are a lot cheaper.i have also heard that chrome has a tendancy to leak.advise .thanks."

otherwise no difference in my opinion.

Just be sure it is the same shape as marine oil pans may be different due to no interference from front end and frame as in auto's.

If the chrome pan is cheaper, than suspect that it has much thinner steel under the plating. That may be the big contributor to the leak concern you mentioned."

Have a body/paint shop coat it w/a clearcoat finish like they put on chrome wheels.
 
I bought a Chinese cheapie chr

I bought a Chinese cheapie chrome pan for the 400 sbc I'm building for my Chevelle.
Steel actually seems quite a bit thicker than the original Chevy pan.
