"Just started troubleshooting a friend's boat. He has a 1996 28' Carver with a 7.4L Merc and Bravo II. His carb was 'rusty' so he had the boatyard replace it with a rebuilt carb. He has a digital flow meter that we verified is accurate.
Prior to replacing the carb he would cruise at 2900 rpm and burn 13-15 gph at 17-18 kts.
With the 'new' carb he spins 2900 rpm, runs 17-18 kts and burns 24-28 gph.
The engine serial number is: OK1518255
The ORIGINAL Weber carb number was: 3310-806969A1
The boatyard replaced it with a Weber 3310-808969RO1
I am wondering if the 'new' carb has much larger jets??"
