"I am an adult on a Girl Scout
"I am an adult on a Girl Scout ship that has 2 Detroit Diesel 671's that have been very faithful to us. We are approaching a foundation to replace our old 671's with more nvironmentally friendly engines. They wanted to know the age of the engines. I have found where on the block the serial numbers are
located. Unfortunately it seems to be older then any information I can find on line.
The starboard engine has a star then "6A 11211" and then another star. Under this is "671RA48A".
The port engine has a star then "6A 11214" and then another star. Under this is "671LC48A".
Can any of you help me figure out how old these engines are?
Thanks, Marilyn"
