"hi just joined site and it looks very informative, but any way i replaced my crusader 270s with slightly used ones out of a friends boat who was going diesel. the problem is that the harness coming from the boat is a 8 pin male plug and the engine harness is also a male plug, can i hard wire them together and how do i know what wire is what?thanks"

If the boat harness is color compliant, you should be able to just match up the colors and wire sizes. Only drawback to hard connections is when it is time to pull the engines. The plus side is no connector corrosion worries.

Worst case is you'll need to figure out which wire provides which signal to/from the engine. the engine harness is ABYC color compliant."
