"Ted, if you do not have an OE

"Ted, if you do not have an OEM manual, it would behoove you to purchase one. Not Seloc... not Clymers.... OEM!
All of this information will be right there for you.

You will want a dwell of approximately 30-31 degrees. Varify this in your new OEM manual.

NOTE: Point gap is an estimate ONLY of correct dwell! Always set points via dwell!

Be sure to re-time the ignition. See your OEM manual for both BASE and TA (total advance). Both specs should be in there. "

"Ted, experience is gained by

"Ted, experience is gained by following the factory manual indications. There are just a few (very few) instances in which one would deviate from those instructions, but in general you cannot be wrong by following what the father of the creature tells you to do.

So, as a rule, I suggest you read the factory manual (RTFM
