Are the plugs fouled?

Is it running badly?

Or...is everything ok and your oil level is getting higher due to fuel?

It is possible that the carburator is running too rich. That is the most simple reason for this problem. Generally, the plugs would also be fouled.

There also could be issues with the valve seals, internal cracks, etc. I prefer to check more simple things first. We have several of these that have over 800 hours a year put on them and have not had this problem. Although, they normally run the engines pretty fast.

If you do a lot a idling and the engine has not been properly broken in, the rings may not even have been properly seated yet.

How old is the motor and has this problem just appeared recently? How is it normally used?
