I have a 1987 mercruise 165 th

I have a 1987 mercruise 165 the 3.7 liter 470 motor. It has been eating plugs. they get fouled out in like 3hrs of running. i have ried to adjust the carb with no sucess. so before i take it to get fixed i was wondering if u all have any ideas. plus my temp guage will not work i have checked the wiress going to it and replace the sensor and guage. so im at a loss.

"what plug are you using, is the coil putting out a good blue spark.With the key "on" ground the wire for the sender, gauge should go full scale .If not theres a wiring issue"
 
Carb is running too rich; rebu

Carb is running too rich; rebuild it or replace it if it is the original due to many worn parts.
