"can anyone help with this pro

"can anyone help with this problem? Engine runs fine and throttle reves up the engine, but the single throttle won't engage the gears.

This all started after going from in gear to neutral and then attempting to go back into gear. Where should I look for the problem?"

general info - not correct for all years/models:
inspect the linkage on the drive.
remove cover on rear of upper gearbox.

Are you real familiar with your throttle/shift control unit?
Are you by chance in the throttle ONLY mode?
Did you encounter a hard shift or a recent impact by chance?

yea real stiff shift recently.

yea real stiff shift recently. I am a newbie so I don't have much understanding of the whole unit. Boat still in the water.
