The unit on the left is the one that was on the barge. Most wires were pulled or rotted off. My wire diagram show yellow wire from starter solenoid to large post on right, black wire to ground on small right post, yellow wire to ignition on smal left post and red wire to hot post on starter solenoid to large post on left.
The new unit on the right is a Sierra Pn 18-5817. There are no markings on the unit and there was no documentation in the box.
Can anyone corrulate the old to the new?
Thanks

"As long as the yellow going to the ignition switch connects to the ig. switch's START terminal, you should be OK.

The "left" and "Right" are interchangeable and not critical. Different story for Big & Small.

You can get the diagram by going to the engine parts page on this site, type in the sierra number and it will be on one of the linked catalog pages."
