i searched through the forum but dint find anythign similar, therefore i will try to ask the experts.
Bavaria boat have D1-20B volvo penta diesel. Got splashed with water, but seem to dry and electronics work fine. Here is the problem.
When starting diesel cold it wont start. i am following this procedure: turn on main battery switch, press "on" button, wait for two beeps, press start, then the EVC black box on the engine makes a click and everything is powered down. if i repeat it, nothing will happen. however if i will turn off main batt switch, turn it on again, then try to start, it sometimes starts fine. After running for a while i can start it easily without problems.
Also i measured voltage at preheat and start contacts at the bottom of black box and they do not getting power when "start" is pressed. I also tried to connect "start" and "battery" contacts when the engine is cold, and it starts right away.
Now Volvo specialist came over, checked all electical connections and said everything is fine, did not fix the problem. black box was changed, although they sent me the older model, same story. So i have no idea what that might be? Any suggestions?
