I have a 1985 Yamaha/Mariner. The impeller in the water pump was fried so I did a complete water pump kit replacemet. I should mention that I bought this motor knowing that in needed a pump and had never run the motor more than enough to see if it would start. It now pumps water out the exhaust port like it should but it also pumps water (cold) out two holes about 1/2 in in diameter that are located on the front of the mid housing. Never seeing the motor really run I do not know if this is normal.
Is this what it is supposed to do or do I have another problem?
