Looking to replace the spark p

Looking to replace the spark plugs on engine since they are black with soot (what could cause this?). Found part number to be NGK BP7ES (stock 1304)and available in Pep Boys. Want to verify that these are it and what type of car engine does the AQ131A compare to. Can the air and fuel mixture be bad to cause the plugs to get like this and if so what are the symptoms? Adjustment procedures? Thanks.
 
Called Auto Zone and they have

Called Auto Zone and they have the equivalent to these (Autolite 63). Is it safe to replace them with these? Thanks.

"If the spark plugs are sooted, my guess is that either they are incorrectly gapped, or they are too cold for your engine. That is, provided your engine is not worn out and burning oil."
