"07 MFS 30. Less than 90 hours, runs great, however oil check revealed increase in fluid in the motor. Dip stick smells like some gas is in the oil. How can this happen and any chance of warranty coverage."

"the newer 4-strokes have a tendency to get gas in oil especially if you do a lot of slow trolling or use in cold water areas. It's commonly referred to as "making oil". This is due to the 4-strokes actually not running hot enough. It's a very common problem among all brands. So much so that the marine industry now recommends you use "FC-W" rated 4-stroke outboard oil. The FC-W oils keep their viscosity longer when gas in is the oil compared to regular automotive oils. For more info on this problem just google (or search boating forums) for "making oil" and read up on FC-W oil. You'll finds tons of posts and tons of advice on the problem. Here's a link on another forum with a pretty good explantion of the problem.

Bottom line is either run your motor harder and/or change your oil more often than normal. And no, it won't be covered by warranty."

I guess if the motor is going

I guess if the motor is going to be designated as a kicker for trolling (and if you have a place for the can) you could always use a 2-stroke.

Normal for all four-stroke out

Normal for all four-stroke outboards. Don't use synthetic oil and periodically rev the engine up to keep it within the correct operating temp.
