NO WATER PUMPING THROUGH RUBBER HOSE HELP

Hey I was wondering if someone

Hey I was wondering if someone could help me out. i have a 1987 OMC outdrive. I just installed a new impeller on the upper part of the unit. there is no water pumping out of the hose on the top near this impeller from the lower unit? any ideas what it might be and how i could fix it? should i take the lower part of the outdrive off and then what??????HELP!

I'm a little unclear on which hose you are talking about but you want to pull the water inlet hose loose at the thermostat housing. You should get a 2-3" stream from the raw water pump. If you dont then you may have some pluggage. Was the old impeller broken? Pieces missing? If so these missing pieces may be the problem. If you have power steering then the PS Fluid cooler will be a good place to look. It should be the first thing in line on the inlet hose between the transom and the T Stat housing.
