Omc cobra 43 fuel in oil sump

"i havea 1986 omc 4.3 cobra,it

"i havea 1986 omc 4.3 cobra,it loses power when going full out,there is fuel,in the oil sump,as i could smell it when i checked the dip stick ,the carburator was recently rebuilt,new rotar, cap ,point wires and plugs and tried a different coil still the same ,any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.,.,, thanks"

"see if there's fuel in the sight tube. that's the skinny flexible line running from the fuel pump back to the carb/flame arrester. If its wet, the pump diphragm is ruptured and the pump needs too be changed, too. If its dry, the carb rebuild probably didn't include a new float or a verification that the needle and seat actually closed.

Don't forget to change the oil and filter once the leak is resolved."
