Have a 1999 Nissan 40

Help

Have a 1999 Nissan 40 D electric and pull start. We had an overheating problems with steam out the tell tail. Let motor rest and then it ran very weak and on two cylinder with the third one tryn to catch. However we stoped and the motor stalled and would not start or fire. Some oil on the pull start cord was new. Checked the 20 amp fuse in the engine: its OK. Plugs are dry. Not sure where to look before going to dealer and running up big bill. Any ideas here.

"Yep Blown head gasket with piston rusted to cylinder . Replaced gasket and it runs , a little weaker. Do you think I damaged the bearing on the crank. I ran it for an hour in the lake and it ran, but this is an ocean dive boat."
 
I would be careful with it. Da

I would be careful with it. Damaged is a relative term and it will have lost some of its life. How much can only be determined by a tear down.
