Honda BF40A water only drips

"Yes I do. I did this repair 7 years ago, but don't remember exactly how to do it. Don't you remove four bolts and the linkage to the lower unit? How do you get to the impeller after that?"
 
My BF9.9a did this. Turned out

My BF9.9a did this. Turned out to be spiders or other bugs or both crawled up the outlet. I just pulled the hose from the inside of the cowling and cleaned it out. Saved me from ruining my vacation!

Maybe not your problem but might help somebody else reading this.
