"Hey all,

I have got a problem

I got around to doing my yearly service, whilst changing my spark plug's I noticed on my bottom plug had a build of a white carbon looked like salt to me.

First thing that crossed my mind was a head gasket letting go.

Oil is not milky engine run's fine and the carbon is only on the bottom plug.

So could it be a head gasket letting go? How can I dignose the problem, if it is a head gasket or something else?

Would rather not go ripping off the head if it isn't a head gasket.

Engine hadn't been started for some month's also.

Many thanks in advance!

Mark"

"Compression check is the best

"Compression check is the best test for head gasket problem.

Do this with all the plugs out, wide open throttle and ignition off.

One 'low' cylinder could be a valve, ring or leakage indication. Some oil squirted into low cylinder will give higher reading if it is rings and valve tappet clearance check is a regular maintenance item on the smaller Honda's (I know nothing about the '90's
)."

"Thanks I will give it a go, I

"Thanks I will give it a go, I have alos thought of running it in the tank again for a while and then pull out the bottom plug to see if I have any water in the bore.

Any other help would be great!
