"The prop on the 20 hp has a rubber hub. It does not have a shear pin.

The rationale...if you hit something hard enough, the rubber hub will loose its adhesion to the prop and allow the prop to essentially stop while allowing your lower unit parts to continue to move.

The added benefit over a shear pin, is that you should be able to still get back to the dock but the hub will only hold at a very low (idle) rpm.

If you have a spun hub, it can be replaced, however, the cost starts getting close to the price of a new prop for your engine."
