"Hi, have a TLDI 50 tiller 2008 under warranty. Runs great - no problems - except when trying to start it warm.

I turn the key, wait for beeps to stop, all lights turn off (normal), turn key to engage starter - nothing! Not even a click. I repeat the cycle several times and usually after a several tries the starter spins and instantly starts up. I sometimes wiggle the gear lever to make sure the neutral safety switch is engaged (makes no difference). It is so random - except for the fact that is only does it when it's been run recently and in the water. Overnight or first launch never has any problems.

I guess I will take it in - but the dealers not too close. I don't even want to touch the ignition switch as the warranty is still good. I did add a Tiny Tach - I hope that does not set off any warranty warning lights nor the slight skeg chip damage.

Thanks,
Mike."

"Loose wire or a dead spot in the starter...Either way it should be covered, unless, they determine it is due to water damage."
