"I have a 1982 DT85, I have stripped and rebuilt the carb’s with all new gaskets and needle valves. I have installed new diaphragms in the fuel pump and installed a new fuel line and tank. However I still cannot get the engine to perform under load, discovered that the bottom two cylinders are not firing. The compression is good on all cylinders and when I remove the spark plugs I get a blue spark.
After running the engine I removed the bottom two spark plugs and these were wet with a dark brown appearance.
It appeared the other day that the bottom cylinders did fire in briefly as there was a lot of smoke from the exhaust.
Is it possible I have a timing issue? Does not seem to fire? Any ideas would be appreciated.
