1990 302 50 wont start

"First timer here.I have a 302

"First timer here.I have a 302 5.0 OMC Cobra.Boat ran great one day and the next day when I was loading up it shut off when going on the trailer.
I brought it home hooked up the garden hose and it started right up but ran alittle rough.Now after checking some things(carb adjustments,spark and fuel)the boat wont even fire.I changed the points,condensor,fuel filters and coil.Hopefully you have enough info to give me some pointers.Thank You to everyone for the help in advance."

"it doesn't crank. check to see if the throttle is in neutral.

It cranks but won't start check the kill switch.

kill switch good, follow the neg cable, and clean the main ground.

disconnect the battery before cleaning connections, also the pos connections follow and clean all the starter and such connections.

maybe a fuse blew, check them, maybe the battery connection is bad."

"Thanks chiefalen,I haven't had time to check these things yet but I will let you know.It does crank over but just isn't firing.Sometimes when I first try starting it she will fire and run a few seconds then wont hit until I let it set a few hours."
