" I have a borg warner 1:1-1 velvet drive 1975 model that has not been in use for 5 years, it has been stored indoors.I am putting it on a rebuilt chrys.LM318B in a25'Luhrs. I've been told to just change the fluid that they rarely go bad , is this usally the case or should I have it overhauld? "

" John, I had a 1971 Luhrs with the same trans. in it. This boat was full of water at one time and so was the transmission. I drained it and refilled with fluid and ran problem free for 6yrs.
Yes they are bullet proof and will run forever !!! "
