I have a 1983 ski supreme w/fo

I have a 1983 ski supreme w/ford 351...the boat goes like hell forward but the reverse is not working...please help!!!!
 
make sure shift cable is adjus

make sure shift cable is adjusted properly.while looking at the tranny see which way the lever goes when you apply foward & reverse. disconnect cable and put the tranny in reverse manually. if tranny goes in reverse adjust the cable if not you might have some other issues. hope this helps
 
It seems that it is going into

It seems that it is going into reverse as far as the linkage goes .....is this a tough fix....i am farmiliar with car trannys as wel as bikes and centrifical .....i just would like to know what i will be faced with when i tear into this one!
