"When I first got my DF300 in 08, there was some lower unit oil leaking from it when it got really hot for the first time last summer. I pulled te prop, cleaned the oil out and checked for leaks. It did not leak anymore and the dealer chalked it up to "blow by" on the seal due to overfilling and expansion. Today, I see it leaking oil again. Yes, it has been really hot the past few days and the lower unit oil was changed late last season.
Is "blow by" common on outboard lower units? My old Yamaha never leaked a drop. Any other Suzuki owners experience this regularly?"
