"I recently had a overheating problem on a 89 ford 5.0 h.o. With the help of this board, it turned out to be the easyst fix ever! By reading other post, and Bob Hills help, I was able to fix it. I suspect that when the owner took this boat to a lake that was to shollow, the intakes on the lower unit clogged. This caused water flow to be cut off. That made the impeller to get kicked of the shaft it sits on, just enough to stop it from turning properly, So when I took it off, and reset it on the shaft, the problem was fixed.
Now when runnig it, the temp never goes above 165. So a big THANK YOU to all!}}"
