"Hi, I have a Honda BF2A that will hot start. I recently bought it and I was told it is a 2003 and it hasn't been running for about 3 years. I have removed the old gas as best I could and have put a new spark plug in. I have gas going to the carb., but all of this has not helped. I have checked for spark and I am good on this as well. What elsw can I do?"

"That carb had jets the size of a human hair. You will find some of them sealed over with old gas. To test this theory, take a squirt bottle and spray a few drops into the carb. If you get a start, you have plugged jets.

Also-- that engine had to have the throttle open a little to start. Pull thru a few times without the choke, then try once with the choke . If the carb is clean it may be the starting procedure."
