"I have a 1987 DT40 remote start. It sat for a couple of years on the boat, outside. I tried to start it and have no spark. There is fuel flow. Can the kill switch go bad? How could I test the kill switch or bypass it? Is there a most likely culprit? Any help would really be appreciated."

"I had the same problem, after buying a $60’00 manual and checking everything I mean everything down to the last wire and all was good everything worked but still no spark, it turned out to be a simple as very badly corroded spark plug wires, one was so bad I cut it off and put the wire under the plug nut on the end of the spark plug, hit the key and the dang thing cranked right up.
I wasted two weeks looking for other stuff that might be wrong because it sate so long. They use low voltage for the spark and all it takes is a little corrosion.
I felt so dumb after it sparked and knocked me to my knees LOL"
