"My 1993 Suzuki DT40 will not go much above idle in reverse. It has the original Suzuki control box which works fine otherwise. I assume is an adjustment, but how do you do that? Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks."

"Is this a new to you engine? If not, did it go faster before? How fast do you think it should go? I have DF140s and they don't go much faster than idle and they are 2007's.

"I just bought the boat from my father who used it only once in a while, but he doesn't recall if it ever would go much above idle. He had it in a year round slip, so wasn't much of an issue. For me it's a challenge to load on the trailer on windy days-it almost doesn't have enough speed to overcome the waves when I need to back up to get lined up. I'm hoping there is a way to increase the engine speed in reverse even a little bit. Good to know what others are experiencing. Thanks, Bob."
