I have a 7.4 l merc that will not get on plane. When I give it full throdel it will only go to about 3000 rpm and will not come on plane. It runs ok at 2000 but tries to backfire if I go any more than that. It also is idleing very low and it hard to manuver becuse it want to die. It starts ok and idle smooth. the oil pressure and temp are fine. and there is no smoke.
