sounds like an air leak in the

sounds like an air leak in the front of the motor. 3 ltr. mercruiser. thinking possibly exhaust leak or manafold. Run fine does not overheat. any suggestions?

Glad to help. Take a good look at the manifold and elbow for crud buildup in the cooling jacket while they are off. Inspect the shutters on both sides. While the bad side is off change the gasket between the elbow and manifold on it.
