Having trouble restarting 57 260 mercruiser

hi im having problems with my

hi im having problems with my 260 mercruiser the boat will start fine run where ever i want to go but when ever i stop and eat lunch or swim for a few hours the boat just dose not want to start and ive been around boats most of my life so i know start up. i dont know if its the carb leaking down or if its something else but i would really like some help please

Could be leaking down. Did you try wot when first trying to restart as in the engine being flooded. I take it the carb is a Q-J...if so the seals on the bottom of the float bowls may have started leaking. If this is the case the engine should also be slow starting when cold or start and stall when cold until the floats bowl refills.
 
it is a q- j carb and sometime

it is a q- j carb and sometimes it will stall out when i first start it. it seams like it floods when it sits to long while we swim and what not but when it is running the boat runs grate idels well every thing
