"Hi. Early this year I bought a 24R AlumaWeld pontoon boat with a 1993 Suzuki DT40 from my dad, who wasn't real big on regular maintenance. I've discovered two issues-the first is that I can't get the engine to accelerate above idle speed when I put it in reverse. Is there an adjustment I need to work on to fix this? Second, I am getting an alarm when cruising if the engine is ran at higher speed-above 2000 RPM for an extended period, or almost immediately above 3000 RPM. I've replaced plugs and put in new fuel, and the engine oil level is fine. Any suggestions? Thanks!"
