"Hi there. Are the rotators still considered essential equipment? Have not seen them on the several 440s I've inspected (including mine). I understand the need for proper spring height, load, etc, but do we still use the rotators when rebuilding? Thanks. PS If yes, who sells them?"

"I've never even seen them, but they are discussed in my "vintage" blue service manual. I was very surprised when my machine shop guy (mostly auto) mentioned them. He didn't suggest they were necessary or otherwise, but I was encouraged by his familiarity with the setup of a 30+ year old marine system."
