"My 2005 140 4-stroke has 490 hours and has been very well maintained and serviced. Performed flawlessly until last week. Problem is that when engine hits @3000 RPMs it goes into a surge mode that I am told is designed to protect the engine from overheating, low oil pressure, etc. The mechanic at the dealership has now worked a full day trying to isolate the cause. The computer hookup shows no problems or codes, service is up to date, oil and everything else is good. He has swapped out engine computer, bypassed rev limit circuits, nothing seems to work.
Anyone else experienced this?"
