"was underway yesterday at 3000 rpm when I had an alarm on my port engine go off, I shut the engine off and let it cool for about 10 min, started it back up it would run for about 30 seconds and the alarm would go off again, proceeded back to the marina with one engine, I noticed white smoke coming out of the exhaust at first sign of alarm, other than that nothing, the engines are Mercruiser 454 Mag, any suggestions, maybe bad thermostat?"
