"Rusty, trying to use your quoted formula for my boat, comes out 19,920 lbs...seems a little heavy to me for my 26' Sabre. Obviously you would not carry more heads than was sensible to begin with, and at that max the skipper would position them so they balanced and did not end up on one side at the same time, but how many passengers does the formula calculate? "That tour boat that sank at Niagara Falls was grossly overloaded using that 150#/person guideline. They have since revised the per person weight estimates for those tour boats. Darn over fed Americans, look around at us, plenty of 10 year old kids weigh 150lbs, Yikes.
