"Hi all,

Sorry if this is a basic question, but I want to lubricate my shifter so the transition from forward to neutral to reverse is smoother. Will squirting some white lithium grease up under the controls do the trick?

Have a great 4th of July!"

"Capt. Ted:

I took mine completely apart, replaced the trim cable assy. and neutral safety switch. There is a cover plate over the assy. so you need to use a nozzle to get inside it. I would rather see you use something lighter since LG eventually stiffens w/age. I used 2-4-C sparingly on the cams and a 10W elec. motor oil on the shafts and pivot points. WD-40 is heavy enough. The rear of the assy. has some access to the cable ends/connections. SELOC has a blowup of it."
