"I'm looking at a 1991 Tohatsu 15hp 2-stroke (M15B2) and want to make sure I can easily get parts for it. I've checked a couple sites and most seem to only go back to 1992. Any suggestions on where to look for parts, manuals, and repair kits?"

"you should try the tohatsu guru's website at www.internetoutboards.com. He has PDF copies of the parts catalogs on his website (at no charge). You can also order service manuals and repair kits (and any other part) from his website as well. As far as the year of the motor, with a Tohatsu the year is not as important as the model #. In other words a 1991 M15B2 is going to be the same as a 1992 M15B2 model. Tohatsu is more geared to model #'s rather than model years."
 
What parts do you want to swap?
The parts catalogs go back to M5B. The A model is quite obsolete.
The M4A and M5A are likely identical except for the carburetor.
Tohatsu/Nissan motors are serviced by model/serial. Not year of manufacture.
