"2000 Merc 350 mag keeps stall

"2000 Merc 350 mag keeps stalling out at idle speeds. Sometimes starts right away and sometimes very hard to start, but either way when does it starts, runs fine for couple minutes, then runs rough for few seconds and dies out. Have changed fuel filter and is getting fuel. Other motor runs fine off same tank. If can get running and get up to speed will stay running. Fluids, temps, etc all OK.

Where should I start? Do these motors have a "computer" that manages them? Thanks"
 
Clean the "IAC" Idle A

Clean the "IAC" Idle Air Control motor. Use throttle body cleaner and not carb cleaner.

"My 2004 5.0 had the same problem, ran fine at speed but wouldn't idle. Problem was a defective shift interrupt sw. I tried the iac valve 1st but in my case that was not the problem."
